What is the role?
As a Technical Support Lead, you'll manage a team of support engineers, driving performance through OKRs. You’ll provide hands-on support for satellite development, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with software, hardware, and mechanical engineering teams to resolve complex challenges. Additionally, you will oversee the returns and repairs process and enhance customer-facing documentation and knowledge base content.

Some of your daily tasks will include:

  • Team Management: Supervise a team of support engineers, setting and monitoring Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement
  • Hands-on support and guidance: Aid satellite development teams by identifying, diagnosing, and troubleshooting reported issues. Offer advice and best practices for optimal use of EnduroSat subsystems
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with software, hardware, and mechanical engineering teams to resolve complex cases efficiently
  • Management of Returns and Repairs: Coordinate with the logistics team on the returns process, manage inspections, and maintain active communication with all stakeholders to ensure quick and effective resolution
  • Documentation and Reporting: Oversee and enhance customer-facing documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity
  • Knowledge Base Development: Compile and maintain detailed articles for the knowledge base, encapsulating common or complex queries to aid in self-service customer support

What do we look for?

  • Leadership: Demonstrated capability for leading teams of 5 to 10 engineers.
  • Technical skills:
    • Good practical knowledge of electronics (hobby or professional): GPIOs, power lines, logic, compilers, etc. Experience with digital interfaces: CAN, UART (RS-485/422 and variations), SPI, or similar
    • Experience with Python, C, CMake, FreeRTOS, APIs, interface description, etc
    • Basic comprehension of RF and electrical engineering concepts
    • Zendesk Suite administration experience
  • Documentation: Ability to create precise technical documentation for internal and external use
  • Versatility: Broad expertise spanning hardware, software, and essential soft skills
