What is the role?
As an Assembly Engineer you will be involved in building and integrating satellite systems, focusing on the seamless assembly of structural, electrical, propulsion, and payload components. You will ensure that each satellite meets our high-quality standards by implementing robust control processes.
Some of your daily tasks will include:
- Satellite Assembly: Participate in the assembly and integration of satellite systems, including structural components, electrical systems, propulsion systems, and payloads.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure that all assembled satellites meet our rigorous quality standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, electrical engineers, and test engineers, to ensure seamless integration of satellite subsystems.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed assembly documentation, including assembly procedures, test plans, and build records.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate assembly processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
What do we look for?
- A degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum one year of experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Good knowledge and proven experience in space tests and qualification standards
- Experience with cleanroom assembly procedures and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control measures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous experience with nanosatellite/microsatellite integration would be considered an advantage
- Familiarity with space qualification standards (e.g., ECSS, NASA-STD-8739) would be considered an advantage
