What is the role?
As a Mechanical Engineer Data Controller you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our mechanical CAD library, ensuring seamless integration and information flow between our design software and PLM system. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and a deep understanding of mechanical components and systems.
Some of your daily tasks will include:
- Mechanical CAD Library Management:
- Oversee the creation, organization, and maintenance of the mechanical CAD library, incorporating all off-the-shelf (COTS) components.
- Ensure that the library is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to the engineering team.
- Data Integration and Management:
- Facilitate the effective transfer and synchronization of information between the mechanical CAD software and the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
- Implement and uphold best practices for data management to support efficient design processes.
- Documentation and Approval:
- In due course, take on responsibilities for reviewing and approving mechanical drawings for assemblies.
- Ensure proper documentation formatting, standards compliance, and clarity in all mechanical drawings.
What do you need?
- Proven experience in managing CAD libraries with expertise in specific mechanical CAD software. Experience with any of SolidWorks, CATIA, PTC Creo is a must.
- Proficient with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, ensuring seamless integration and data integrity. Experience with any PLM software is a must.
- Experience in reviewing and approving mechanical documentation is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
