We are making space universally accessible and redefining what's possible.

  • We get things done

We take ownership of what we do and we work hard to make a difference.

  • We are fearless

Transparency is our only way forward. We dare to address and resolve issues head-on.

  • We learn from our mistakes

We deliver, take informed risks, and evolve to achieve our goals. We compare with the best version of ourselves

What is the role?

As a CMM Inspector, you will safeguard the geometric integrity of the flight and ground-support hardware we build. You will perform precision dimensional inspection of machined parts, structural components, brackets, fixtures, and assemblies, and produce the inspection records that release hardware for build and flight. You will program and operate both of our coordinate-measuring systems - the Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex V CNC bridge CMM for high-accuracy lab inspection, and the FARO Arm Quantum-X portable articulated CMM for fixtured, large parts - translating engineering drawings and GD&T into reliable measurement results. You will work closely with Product Assurance, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering in a fast-moving NewSpace environment where the parts you inspect actually go to space.

Some of your daily tasks will include:

  • Performing incoming, in-process and final dimensional inspection of mechanical parts and assemblies against engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T callouts
  • Operating and creating measurement programs on the Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex V (MCOSMOS), including part setup, datum and coordinate-system alignment, probe configuration
  • Operating the FARO Arm Quantum-X with FARO CAM2 for portable measurement, large or fixtured parts, CAD-to-part comparison, and alignment tasks impractical on the bridge CMM
  • Establishing part coordinate systems and datum reference frames, and selecting the correct measurement and probing strategy for each feature and tolerance
  • Interpreting technical drawings and GD&T and evaluating features for size, form, orientation, location, and profile
  • Generating clear inspection reports keeping them traceable and aligned with our quality management system and ECSS requirements
  • Identifying and documenting nonconformances, raising NCRs, and supporting root-cause and corrective-action activities
  • Maintaining CMM accuracy through routine verification, probe calibration, reference-sphere checks, and adherence to the calibration schedule; flagging equipment issues promptly
  • Maintaining the metrology lab environment and following ESD and cleanroom-adjacent handling practices for flight hardware

What do we look for?

  • Technical secondary education or higher in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience operating CMMs — portable arm and/or bridge/CNC type. Experience with FARO arms (CAM2) and/or Mitutoyo CMMs (MCOSMOS) is strongly preferred
  • Solid command of GD&T and confident technical drawing interpretation
  • Strong working knowledge of dimensional metrology fundamentals: probing strategy, alignment, measurement uncertainty, and the capability differences between portable-arm and fixed bridge systems
  • Familiarity with calibration and verification practices for measuring equipment
  • Attention to detail, methodical work habits, and disciplined record-keeping
  • Working English for technical documentation.

How to stand out:

  • Aerospace, defense, medical, automotive or other precision/high-reliability manufacturing background
  • CMM offline programming and CAD import experience
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 or ECSS quality and product assurance standards
  • Experience working with cleanroom and ESD-controlled flight hardware
