What is the role?
As the Spacecraft Mission Operations Lead, you will be at the forefront of our space assets operations, leading a dedicated team of spacecraft operators. You will plan and prioritize their tasks, manage their performance, and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of EnduroSat’s next-generation satellites in orbit. Your leadership and expertise will be crucial in guiding your team to support customer payload operations by preparing and formalizing procedures based on existing guidelines, preparing and testing autonomous scripts, validating satellite performance, requesting & describing new features in the mission control software suite, and taking corrective actions to ensure mission success.
Some of your daily tasks will include:
- Lead and manage a team of spacecraft operators, planning their tasks and working with them to improve the team’s performance
- Analyze existing guidelines and satellite documentation to prepare detailed procedures for different stages of the bus and payload operations
- Formulate and validate scripts for different operational flows, ensuring they meet mission requirements
- Maintain and ensure accuracy in activities documentation during daily operations
- Oversee the commissioning of payloads based on documentation and communication both within EnduroSat and outside of the organization
- Describe new software features for SpaceOps mission operations software based on lessons learned and upcoming missions
- Provide mentorship and training to new mission operators, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement
What do we look for?
- Master’s degree in a technical field
- Proven experience in time-critical operations (spacecraft operations, air traffic control, or similar)
- Good knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, MatLab, or similar)
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong command of technical documentation
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring a team
- Knowledge and experience in electronics testing, C/C++ or Python, and data analysis are considered advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude
- A self-starter who is quick to learn and eager to share knowledge
- Understand the importance of last-mile delivery and strive for excellence in all operations
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure
