What is the role? 

We are looking for an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our growing team and lead procurement strategies for critical space hardware categories, including EEE components, bare PCBs, precision mechanics, harnesses, and procured satellite subsystems.  

Some of your daily tasks will include:

• Own sourcing strategies for assigned categories (EEE components, PCB/PCBA, CNC mechanics, harnesses, and subsystems like power, comms, propulsion, and structures)
• Run structured sourcing events including market analysis, RFI/RFQ preparation, bid tabulation, and cost modeling
• Build and maintain the Approved Supplier List in coordination with Quality, driving supplier qualification from initial screening to series release
• Identify and reduce single-source exposure, defining second-source and dual-qualification roadmaps for critical items
• Lead commercial negotiations on price, NRE, tooling, payment terms, Incoterms, warranty, liability caps, and liquidated damages
• Negotiate and administer Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), volume-tiered pricing, and price-down curves from prototype to series production
• Review supplier T&Cs (IP ownership, liability, termination charges, inflation adjustments) in coordination with Legal
• Challenge NRE and one-time cost proposals and secure favorable amortization or ownership terms
• Track and report savings, cost avoidance, price variance against budget, and cost of poor quality by supplier
• Partner with Production Planning, Warehouse, and ERP coordinators to ensure sourcing decisions align with system master data, lead times, and safety stock
• Present supplier strategies and risk positions to senior management with clear recommendations

What do we look for?

• Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field
• 5+ years of experience in a similar strategic sourcing or procurement role (ideally in aerospace, high-tech, or advanced manufacturing)
• Excellent computer literacy – MS Office and SAP (experience with ERP systems is a must)
• Ability to read construction drawings, technical documentation, and product requirements
