What is the role?

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our innovative team focused on developing cutting-edge embedded solutions for mission-critical space applications. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of reliable embedded software that meets stringent performance, security, and adaptability requirements. You'll work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment to deliver high-impact projects from concept to deployment

This role is based in Denver, Colorado, where we are building a high-performing and fast-paced team. The position will be primarily on-site and in person at the office

Some of your daily tasks will also include:

  • Design and develop reliable embedded software solutions tailored to mission-specific requirements
  • Optimize and improve embedded system adaptability, performance, and security
  • Actively support the entire software development lifecycle, from design to testing
  • Collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary team to achieve mission-critical goals
  • Perform system bring-up, debug, and validation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ECSS, MISRA, etc.)
  • Implement and integrate software modules with hardware components to ensure seamless functionality
  • Conduct code reviews, maintain high code quality standards, and refactor existing codebases for efficiency
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including unit, integration, and system-level testing
  • Document software architectures, designs, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues in development and productionembedded environments
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and best practices in embedded systems to drive innovation

What do we look for?

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 2+ years of proven experience in embedded software design and development
  • Strong foundations in real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
  • Proficiency in AI-Assisted Development
  • Experience with Agentic AI Workflows is a plus
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing closure and maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
  • Experience debugging embedded systems and using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and signal analyzers
  • Familiarity with ARM or other embedded architectures
  • Experience working with MPSoC (Multi-Processor System-on-Chip) systems
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and related debugging tools (e.g., TCP/IP, CAN, UART, SPI)
  • Experience with the Yocto Project, including writing recipes, layers, and customizing images
  • Willingness to travel to US and European locations 
  • Based in the Denver area, or willing to relocate
  • US citizenship

Salary range: $120,000 - $170,000 per year. The state of Colorado requires listing salary details. The salary will likely be within this range although it may differ based on experience level or other factors.
