As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in customer communications, evaluating and negotiating technical proposals, and providing expert guidance on complex engineering solutions. Your ability to communicate complex technical requirements, starting from high-level customer vision and refining them into actionable, testable features, will be essential to the success of our projects.
Some of your daily tasks will include
- Provide high-level oversight of satellite system design, ensuring all subsystems are integrated effectively.
- Decompose and refine requirements, bridging the gap between customer vision and technical execution.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, facilitating technical discussions and negotiations.
- Oversee the validation and verification of systems and ensure compliance with mission objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in systems engineering processes and methodologies.
What do you need?
- BSc or MSc degree in aerospace engineering, electronics, computer science, or a related field.
- 8+ years experience in the design and development of nanosats and/or smallsats.
- Deep knowledge of satellite systems, including subsystems such as communication, power, and propulsion.
- Expertise in setting and decomposing requirements across different domains of expertise.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively, including through graphical representations (schematics, sequences, state diagrams).
- Professional experience in writing and managing technical requirements.
How to stand out?
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools for satellite design and analysis, e.g., SolidWorks.
- Experience analyzing and optimizing mission budgets (e.g., power, link, delta-V).
- Proficiency with orbit simulation tools (e.g., STK, GMAT).
- Experience with Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.
- Familiarity with UML/SysML for system modeling.
- Strong project and risk management skills.
