What is the role?

As an experienced MCAD Harness Design Engineer at EnduroSat, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, integration, and validation of electrical wiring harnesses for satellite systems. You will ensure that harness design follows the best practices and standards for safety, robustness, ease of assembly, and manufacturability, while collaborating closely with AIT, mechanical, and hardware engineering teams to ensure product integrity throughout the mission life cycle.

Some of your daily tasks will include:

  • Designing and creating 3D electrical harness models and detailed routing layouts
  • Ensuring all designs comply with IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards
  • Defining components and fixing strategies (cables, fasteners, shields, grounding points, protections)
  • Supporting optimal connector placement on PCBs and satellite structures in coordination with the hardware and mechanical teams
  • Performing mechanical validation checks for bending radius, clearances and clashes
  • Participating in and contributing to design reviews, performing DFM analyses, and documenting lessons learned
  • Collaborating with wiring harness manufacturers to improve design quality and production processes.

What do we look for?

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, Automotive Engineering, or related technical fields
  • 5+ years of practical experience in 3D harness routing for aerospace or automotive applications
  • Expertise with 3D harness design tools such as CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks Electrical (preferred), or Siemens NX.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and interconnections — how things work in practice
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure across multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration in cross-functional environments
  • Drive to learn, grow, and continuously innovate in a high-performance engineering context
  • Experience defining electrical harness standards or documentation templates
  • Knowledge of materials selection for flight harness design (cable shields, insulation, connector finishing, etc.)

How to stand out

  • Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and ECSS standards for space harness design
  • Familiarity with MCAD–ECAD collaboration workflows (e.g., exporting harness routing data for ECAD formboards such as Zuken E3.series)
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles
  • Hands-on background or understanding of satellite electrical architectures and power/data distribution systems
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments (ISO class 7 or equivalent), following standardized handling and contamination control procedures
  • Hands-on experience with harness assembly and integration, ideally through prior work on  electromechanical systems of satellites, vehicles, or other high-reliability products
