What is the role?

We are seeking a Junior System Harness Design Engineer to join our System Design Team. In this role, you will support the design and documentation of electrical wiring harnesses for satellite systems, working closely with senior engineers to create accurate schematics, electrical drawings, and harness specifications.

You will contribute to the design, integration, and validation of 2D harness schematics and drawings while developing your expertise in electrical interconnection design, standards compliance, and spacecraft systems integration. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills on cutting-edge space technology while working under the mentorship of experienced wiring harness design engineers.

Some of your daily tasks will include:

  • Creating and updating eCAD schematic diagrams and electrical harness drawings documentation using industry-standard tools
  • Designing wiring harness layouts with accurate connector pinouts, cable specifications, and signal routing
  • Supporting PCB design activities including connector selection and producing technical schematics and documentation following IPC and ECSS standards
  • Collaborating with system and mechanical teams to ensure design requirements are predefined and followed
  • Performing design reviews and supporting design validation activities
  • Assist with the assembly of wiring harnesses based on predesigned harness drawing
  • Troubleshooting already assembled wiring harnesses – finding the route cause of the issue, not just resolving it
  • Learning and applying electrical wiring harnesses best practices and satellite electrical architecture principles
  • Supporting testing activities, including verification of pinouts with multimeters, signal measurement with oscilloscopes, and power supplies load tests

What do we look for?

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field (recent graduates welcome if you have internship or hands-on experience)
  • 2+ years of practical experience in eCAD design, electrical schematic design (KiCAD or Altium) or any harness design software within aerospace, automotive, or other electromechanical industries
  • Practical experience with PCB design fundamentals and connector selection for electronic systems
  • Hands-on experience using test equipment: multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply, and basic electrical testing.
  • Good basic understanding of electrical systems – ohms law, series/parallel connections, power loss/consumption, CAN, RS-485, RS-422 communication etc
  • Attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate technical documentation
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate across engineering teams.
  • Eager to learn, develop technical skills, and grow within a high paced engineering environment.

How to stand out

  • Experience with working in Zuken E3, ePlan, RapidHarness, Capital, Arcadiaor any  other eCAD software
  • Experience with designing, assembly, testing, integrating and documenting of wiring harnesses projects, including creation of Bill of Materials (BoM)
  • Background in satellite or aerospace electrical systems design
  • Portfolio or examples of technical drawings and schematics you've created
  • Schematics designed for personal projects either in Altium or KiCAD
  • Previous contributions aerospace projects
